Privacy Policy

Effective date: 10 August 2026

The short version: we collect what you choose to send us, we use it to reply to you, and we don’t sell it to anybody. There are no advertising trackers on this site.

Who holds your information

The Local Bit is a trade name of NovaTech AV LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. NovaTech AV LLC is responsible for the information described here, and it’s who you’re dealing with when you ask us to correct or delete any of it.

What we collect

  • What you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we get your name, email address, whatever you tell us about your business, and the message itself.
  • Basic server logs. Our hosting provider records ordinary request data — IP address, browser, page requested, timestamp — the way every web server does. We use it to keep the site up and to spot abuse, not to build a profile of you.
  • Your theme preference. The light/dark and accent settings are stored in your own browser’s local storage. That never leaves your device and never reaches us.

We don’t run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking cookies on this site.

Tracking, and Do Not Track

No third party collects personal information about what you do on this site, or follows you across other sites over time. There’s no advertising network here and nothing building a profile of you.

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. We don’t respond to it, because there’s no tracking here for it to turn off.

Why we have it

To answer you, to prepare a proposal if you ask for one, and to keep the ordinary business records that come with working together. We won’t add you to a mailing list you didn’t ask for.

Who else can see it

The companies that run our website hosting, that carry our email, and that help us keep track of enquiries so none get lost. They process it on our behalf so we can operate — nothing more. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead anywhere are deleted once they’re clearly stale. If we end up working together, we keep the correspondence and records for as long as the relationship lasts, plus whatever period our accounting and tax obligations require.

Data inside systems we build for you

This policy covers this website. The data held in software we build and run for a client — your customers, your jobs, your records — is yours, and how we handle it is governed by the agreement we sign with you, not by this page.

Your choices

Email us at hello@thelocalbit.com and we’ll tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You don’t need to give a reason, and we’ll do it promptly.

Changes to this policy

If this changes, we’ll update the page and move the effective date at the top forward. We’re a small company; there won’t be much churn here.
